Softball: Hannan scores 4-1 win over Mount Carmel

Area Prep Softball Report for Friday, Feb. 26

Archbishop Hannan won the Division IV state championship in 2019 and the Hawks did not get a chance to defend their title in 2020, due the pandemic.

The Hawks are serving notice that it will be a force again in 2021 early on in the season.

Hannan beat Division I power Mount Carmel Academy 4-1 at Muss Bertolino in Kenner Thursday.

Tristyn Baugh was outstanding on the mound, pitching the Hawks to the big win.

Archbishop Hannan (2-2) has lost to a pair of powers in Central and John Curtis Christian while the Hawks have also beaten Central Catholic.

Hannan will play at Belle Chasse next Tuesday at 4 p.m. while the Cubs (2-1) lost for the first time after wins over Parkview Baptist and Academy of Our Lady. Mount Carmel will host Cabrini Monday at 4 p.m.
