The Blue Jays (1-0-1) will play in the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Tournament beginning this Friday at Vandebilt Catholic in Houma, opening with the Terriers Friday at 1 p.m. before facing district rival Brother Martin at 11 a.m. and E.D. White Catholic at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The Wolves (4-0-1) will travel to Lafayette next Monday at 5:30 p.m.
At Pan American Stadium, there was another marquee matchup among top teams in the state.
It was a mostly even match with the score reflecting the closeness of the match throughout.
Then, in the 72nd minute, Sinjin Mills scored to give Holy Cross a 1-0 victory over Brother Martin at Pan American Stadium in the season opener for the Tigers.
Holy Cross returns to action next Tuesday at Newman at 5 p.m. while Brother Martin (1-1-1) will play in the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Tournament in Houma at Vandebilt Catholic this weekend.
