TYLER, Texas — Xavier University of Louisiana’s Thursday men’s basketball game at Texas College was postponed because of a backboard that shattered during pregame warmups.

No makeup date has been determined.

The Gold Rush (14-4 overall, 10-3 Red River Athletic Conference) are in third place in the league and 1 1/2 games behind LSU-Alexandria, which won 88-81 at Southwest (N.M.) to remain in first place. Texas College is 11-3 in the RRAC and in second place, and LSU-Shreveport is fourth — it dropped out of a tie with XULA — at 10-4 after its 90-86 home loss against Our Lady of the Lake.

The postponement is XULA’s second this season. A facility scheduling conflict moved the Dillard-at-XULA basketball doubleheader from Nov. 18 to Feb. 20.

The Gold Rush will stay on the road and play RRAC opponent Jarvis Christian at 4 p.m. Saturday in Hawkins, Texas.
