One of the best things about college football is its unpredictability. Fortunately for LSU and Tulane fans, that won’t be the case for their teams this week for Homecoming.

I could pick the LSU and Tulane games with my eyes closed as I make some “Sports Takes Sure To Be Wrong (Although We Know The Majority Of These Will Be Right)”.

It’s the “Saturday Seven” starting with two easy picks.

No. 19 LSU 48, Army 23: It should be a long Saturday night in Baton Rouge for the Black Knights.

No. 23 Tulane 37, North Texas 17: North Texas defeated Temple last week for its first win as a member of the American Athletic Conference. Now it faces the defending conference champions. The game could be over by halftime.

No. 7 Penn State 24, No. 3 Ohio State 20: Upset Special. Normally this would be an easy Ohio State pick, because the Buckeyes traditionally are tough to beat at home, but something seems weird about this game. This is a good Penn State team that is due to beat one of the big boys in the Big 10.

No. 11 Alabama 34, Tennessee 20: Remember Tennessee’s upset against Alabama last year? I’m positive Nick Saban won’t let the Tide forget it. Tennessee’s offense is not that good, and that will be the difference in this game,

No. 14 Utah 28, No. 18 USC 24: Another Upset Special. This is the week where the much-hyped Trojans drop out of the top 25. The Utah defense is legit. The USC defense is not. The only reason why the Utes won’t get 30 points in this game is because of their injuries on offense.

No. 4 Florida State 31, No. 16 Duke 21: A much-improved Duke team should make things interesting for most of the game, but the Blue Devils eventually will succumb to the Seminoles’ talent.

No. 25 UCLA 38, Stanford 20: Stanford won’t get two upsets in a row. UCLA is too good, and its toughness will travel.
