Kentavius Street

The New Orleans Saints have added free agent defensive tackle Kentavius Street who has spent his entire NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers.

The 6-2 1/4, 287 pounder was a fourth round selection in the 2018 draft. He has recorded 42 stops with eight for losses and three sacks, playing in 35 NFL contests. Street is expected to compete with top Saints returnees David Onyemata and Shy Tuttle for snaps at defensive tackle. He producing 27 stops with six for losses, three sacks and one forced fumble.

The 25 year old Douglas, Georgia native played at North Carolina State under current Saints co- defensive coordinator, Ryan Nielsen, who was the Wolfpack defensive line coach at the time.

According to Pro Football Focus, Street lined up in the B gap (between the OG and OT) on 290 out of 450 snaps in ’21.

Saints fans may remember Street for the wrong reason. Playing against New Orleans in the Superdome, Street took an outside route on a pass rush, beating guard Cesar Ruiz and burying Drew Brees. the resulting hit broke 11 of the quarterback’s ribs. Following momentary discussion among the game officials, they dropped a yellow flag for roughing the passer.
