Archbishop Rummel outfielder Ruben Ramirez has committed to play college baseball at Loyola.

A two-sport standout, Ramirez leads the Raiders in hitting this season with a .416 average. The senior has seven doubles, a triple, a home run and 12 RBI out of the leadoff spot. Ramirez has drawn 19 walks, has been hit by pitch seven times and has 26 stolen bases.

Ramirez was an integral part of Rummel winning its first district championship since 2006 this season. Rummel is the third seed in the Select Division I playoffs. He also helped the Rummel football team reach the Select Division I semifinals this past season as an outstanding wide receiver. Ramirez caught 46 passes for 821 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for a sixth score.
