Lee Hedges Stadium

Lee Hedges Stadium will likely be out of service through the rest of the year, reports the Shreveport-Bossier Journal.

Caddo Parish Schools athletic director Anthony Tisdale told the Journal that the discovery of asbestos during preparations to renovate the facility has led to the shutdown of the heavily-utilized facility for local sports including high school football. The renovations are part of a planned $3 million dollar upgrade.

Captain Shreve and Byrd, who use Lee Hedges as their home football stadium, will reportedly play all but two of their home games this fall at Independence Stadium. The other four contests will be hosted by Jerry Burton Stadium at Northwood High School.
