The Cincinnati Bengals have requested interview with New Orleans Saints defensive backs coach Aaron Glenn for their open defensive coordinator position, ESPN reports. However, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Saints are not going to grant that permission. Teams can block such interviews for other assistant coaching positions at their discretion.

The 46-year old Glenn, a former three-time Pro Bowl cornerback, has been with the Saints in his current role since 2016. The Texas A&M product also has front office and scouting experience.

Since the hiring on new head coach Zac Taylor, the Bengals have reportedly shown previous interest in Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen and interviewed New Orleans linebackers coach Mike Nolan for the opening.

University of Florida defensive coordinator Todd Grantham interviewed with the Bengals twice before deciding to stay with the Gators.
