SLIDELL – A two-sport star, Kohen Rowbatham enjoyed a stellar football season for Northshore in leading the Panthers to their first playoff appearance since 2008.

Rowbatham then joined the Panthers on the hardwood as he did as a freshman.

Having already eclipsed 1,000 points for his young career in basketball, Rowbatham displayed a rare, unique, amazing skill Tuesday night in a District 6-5A home contest with Ponchatoula.

Rowbatham sank all 19 free throw attempts as part of a 32-point performance in a 77-67 victory Tuesday night over the Green Wave in a game seen aired at CrescentCitySports.com.

Northshore (20-5, 7-2) took control early, opening the game on a 5-0 run and added an 11-0 run to lead 22-8 before leading 26-17 after one quarter. Allen Graves kept Ponchatoula in touch with 14 points in the quarter.

Ponchatoula pulled within 28-25 early in the second quarter before Northshore went on 6-0 run to lead 34-25 and pulled out to a 46-32 lead at halftime. Rowbatham scored 18 points in the half for the Panthers.

The Green Wave cut into the deficit in the third quarter, going on a 10-0 run to make it 48-42 and closed the quarter on a 6-0 run to make it 58-52. Graves had eight points in the quarter.

Ponchatoula was able to get within seven points at 60-53 but could get no closer in the final quarter.

Fabian Hartley Jr. had 13 points and five rebounds, Landon Renz had nine points and Tyrell Yates finished with eight points and six rebounds.

Allen Graves led Ponchatoula (13-10, 5-4) with 24 points, five rebounds and four blocks while Jordan Thomas had 16 points, 5 assists and four rebounds and Cory Jackson contributed 13 points.

The Panthers entered the game fifth in the new LHSAA Division I power rankings.

Both teams return to district play Friday night as Northshore travels to Fontainebleau while Ponchatoula will host Mandeville.
