Warren Easton defensive tackle Shone Washington committed Wednesday to LSU for their 2022 class.

The 6-foot-4, 305-pound four-star talent picked the Tigers over many Power 5 programs including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Texas and Texas A&M.

Washington, the sixth commitment for LSU in 2022, did not play for Easton last year due to LHSAA transfer rules after spending a semester at John Ehret.

The 14th ranked overall player and the second rated defensive tackle in Louisiana’s 2022 class according to 247 sports, Washington has the skills to play end, as a 3 tech or nose tackle. He uses his hands very well to ward off blockers and locate the ball. He can bull rush and create pressure while also gaining penetration into backfield to disrupt the running game.

Washington has great upside and has just scratched the surface of his potential.
