Tyrell Pigrome

Tulane added four grad transfers for the 2020 class – OG Jaylen Miller (Duke), LB Kevin Henry (Oklahoma State), CB Kyle Meyers (Florida State) and WR Mykel Jones (Oklahoma).

Overall, the Green Wave signed 20 prospects but the roster certainly has room for one more grad transfer at quarterback.

Even though freshmen Michael Pratt and Justin Ibieta were part of this class, there is still a void behind center where more quality depth with experience and perhaps competition for returnee Keon Howard would be useful. I fully anticipate the Green Wave will be adding a grad transfer (or a transfer if the NCAA ruling due in May or June allows all transfers immediately eligibility).

Dual-threat Trey Love, a 6-2, 218 pounder with three years of eligibility remaining, served as a backup quarterback and baseball outfielder at West Virginia. He played in only five football games, attempting five total passes during his two seasons in Morgantown. Highly intelligent, Love graduated in just two years.

Love’s grandfather Woodrow Lowe was three-time All-American linebacker at Alabama before moving on to the NFL.

Maryland dual-threat Tyrell Pigrome (5-10, 209) made seven starts for the Terrapins. The 2015 Alabama Gatorade Player of the Year totaled 62 touchdowns (44 passing, 18 rushing) as a prepster. While at Maryland, he accounted for 1,777 yards passing with nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Pigrome added 630 yards and eight scores as a runner. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Grant Loy (6-5, 223), a dual threat from Bowling Green with two years of eligibility, made eight starts for the Falcons including seven in 2019. He played in 29 games overall, passing for 1,478 yards with eight touchdowns and 14 interceptions plus 642 yards with six scores rushing.

If the ruling comes soon allowing immediate eligibility for first time transfers, the market will be greatly enhanced.

Looking further ahead, Tulane has scored their first commitment for the 2021 class from Virginia prep quarterback Billy Wiles and has drawn interest from quite a few quality prospects. There is reciprocal interest in most cases.
