Much like the weather in New Orleans, the recruiting trail is beginning to really heat up for the Tulane Green Wave.

The program has gained three commitments for the 2024 class within the past 24 hours and more are likely to come soon.

Ruston High School’s Geordan Guidry visited Tulane this weekend after receiving his offer Feb. 7. The defensive end pledged during his time in the Big Easy.

Guidry considered offers from Kansas State, Ole Miss, Missouri, LA Tech, Memphis, Northwestern State and Prairie View.

The 6-foot-3, 240 pounder tallied 74 stops with 10 for loss, 7.5 sacks and three passes deflected this pasts season. Ruston squared off against Destrehan in the 2022 LHSAA Division I non-select state championship.

Guidry is a relentless pass rusher, disposes the blocker quickly and will chase the play down the line.

Dayton Beach, Fla. linebacker Rodney Hill, Jr., a four-star recruit like Guidry, also committed this weekend on his visit to the Wave.

Hill (5-11, 212) had additional offers from Tennessee, Iowa State, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh, UCF, South Florida, FAU, Charlotte, Eastern Michigan, UMass, Bethune Cookman, Rhode Island, Delaware and Eastern Kentucky.

Playing in the highest classification in Florida, Hill plays running back and linebacker but his college future lies on defense. He diagnoses plays quickly, flies decisively through the hole to make stops and tackles well in the open field.

If an athlete runs 18.18 mph, their time is translated into a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash. Hill has been clocked at a blistering 21.73 mph.

Guidry and Hill join athlete Guiseann Mirtil out of Winter Haven, Fla. as weekend commits for Tulane’s 2024 class.
