Newly-minted Tulane head football coach Jon Sumrall is leaving no stone unturned as he shapes his roster for the 2024 campaign.

Despite securing 19 signatures for the 2024 recruiting class and adding 13 more via the transfer portal, there was one area that the new head coach felt needed to be addressed.

Ethan Head, a kicker from West Chicago, Illinois (Wheaton Academy) pledged Saturday to the Green Wave.

This past season, Tulane senior Valentine Ambrosio converted on 80.8% of his field goal attempts but attempted none of tem from from 50 yards or further.

Head received a 5-star ranking as at Kohl’s Kicking camp as a place kicker and a 4-star grade as a punter. He was ranked as the 23rd overall kicker at the prestigious camp.

As a prep senior, the 6-foot-1, 175 pounder was 12 out of 15 on his field goal attempts. He averaged 64 yards on his kickoffs. His longest kickoff was 80 yards.

His punting was also impressive, hitting some up to 50 yards with a 4.56-second hang time.
