Recruiting: Lutcher product Gregory Clayton commits to UTSA
Former Lutcher wide receiver Gregory Clayton has committed to the UTSA Roadrunners. He becomes their third pledge yet to be signed in February, joining 13 others who inked with UTSA in December.
Among the early signees for the C-USA program was former LSU and St. James quarterback Lowell Narcisse. Former local prep coach and LSU assistant Frank Wilson is the head coach of the Roadrunners.
The 5-foot-11, 175 pound Clayton, cousin of NFL wideout Jarvis Landry, graduated in 2018 but attended Navarro Junior College this past season. He eats up the cushion between he and cover men quickly, has a vice grip on pass offerings, cradles ball strong and runs good routes. Very fluid, Clayton excels at yards after catch.
Clayton, who considered offers from UTSA and Texas State, will have three seasons to play.
