Recruiting: JUCO defensive tackle Shone Washington commits to LSU
When quizzed as to which positions on his football team were considered needs on the recruiting trail, LSU head coach Brian Kelly quickly responded that defensive line was imperative to improve.
The Tigers took a step toward meeting that need Monday with the commitment of three-star junior college defensive tackle Shone Washington for the Class of 2024.

The 6-foot-3, 300 pound Washington spent the 2023 season at East Mississippi Community College.
Ranked third among interior defensive lineman in the state of Louisiana’s 2022 signing class, Washington played as a freshman at John Ehret prior to transferring to Warren Easton. Originally committed to LSU, Washington signed with Georgia.
This past weekend, Washington was at LSU for the Texas A&M game. Washington considered Mississippi State, Western Kentucky, Ole Miss and Colorado. Frank Wilson handled recruiting duties for LSU.
The next seven to ten days should be a clear indication about how LSU will fare for both the 2024 and 2025 recruiting cycles after all of the highly regarded players that have visited LSU most recently reach decisions.
