Willie Fritz is preparing for his second consecutive conference title game this weekend but found time to reel in another key player for Tulane’s 2024 football signing class.

Defensive back Chase Green from Largo, Florida originally committed to Illinois back on June 27 but backed out November 25. Now he’s pledge to the Green Wave.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Green, who visited the New Orleans campus June 27, is the 11th Tulane commit for 2024. The three-star prospect considered offers from Illinois, Arkansas State, Liberty, USF, FIU, Tennessee Tech, Campbell and Temple.

Called an “old school” safety, Green is very physical against the run or passing attack. He has good ball skills and turns into a ballhawk when the football is in the air.
