LSU has been on a hot streak this week, receiving four pledges for the 2024 football recruiting class.

The latest came Thursday via the efforts of assistants Brad Davis and Mike Denbrock, who flipped a five star recruit from Texas A&M to LSU.

Offensive tackle Weston Davis out of Beaumont United (Texas) tabbed the Tigers after he had been committed to the Aggies since June 26. Davis backed out of his A&M verbal October 26th. He made his official visit to the Baton Rouge campus on June 23.

Besides LSU and Texas A&M, Davis was highly coveted by Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss, USC, Texas Tech, Mississippi State, Missouri, Miami, Memphis, Oklahoma and Houston.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Davis attributes his excellent footwork due to his success on the basketball court where he averaged 4.3 points and 4.1 rebounds for the Texas Class 6A runner-up last season. He cited basketball helping with his footwork and conditioning.

Just scratching the surface of his football potential, Davis has played in less than 30 games. He lines up at right tackle, plays snap to whistle, has a vice grip lock on his opponent, moves his opponent and seals the edge. His ability to play with balance is another strength.

LSU now has 26 commitments for 2024.
