Torbor rejected offers from Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, Tulane, Kentucky, Memphis, Kansas and Indiana among others. Mickey Joseph and Steve Ensminger have been monitoring for LSU but have not extended an offer.
Destrehan has a recent history of producing some outstanding wideouts. Former two-way performer Rickey Jefferson concentrated on defense while at LSU after he enjoyed a stellar career for the Wildcats as a receiver. Kirk Merritt is headed to Arkansas State, Alfred Smith is now at Louisiana Tech and Michael Young is having a solid spring and is penciled in as a starter at Notre Dame. Sophomore Justin Jefferson has opened eyes at LSU. Must be something in the water in St. Charles Parish.
Torbor and his family have made numerous trips to Starkville, which provided familiarity with the school and surroundings. Mississippi State first-year head coach Joe Moorhead runs an offense that he brought from Penn State with him that will fit Torbor’s skills.
Torbor is ranked among the top 50 senior receivers in the nation. In my recent top Metro area players, I had him rated as the metro area’s third best wide out behind Devonta Lee (Amite) and Trey Palmer (Kentwood). Torbor has a super work ethic and looks silky smooth. He is a good route runner and a big play receiver who also comes back towards to ball and stretches the field. He is a very good blocker, which sets him apart from many playing his position.
