Recruiting: Calvary Baptist OL Devin Harper commits to LSU

LSU continued their hot streak recruiting with another big pledge in the 2025 class.

With the top-ranked 2025 class thus far, the Tigers added their 10th commitment, Devin Harper from Calvary Baptist.

The 6-foot-5, 300 pounder is the No. 3 rated prospect in Louisiana in his class. Harper is the top offensive lineman in the Pelican state and rated as the seventh best interior lineman in the country.

Harper attended Junior Day in Tigertown this past weekend. LSU coaches made a stop in Shreveport 10 days ago to visit both Harper and hus Calvary Baptist teammate, running back James Simon (6-0, 200), who is the 4th overall prospect in the state and the second ranked 2025 running back.

LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis was instrumental in securing the commitment from Harper, who was heavily recruited with offers from Florida State, Arizona State, Florida, Missouri, Michigan State, Houston, Grambling, Ole Miss, Penn State, Mississippi State, SMU, Texas, Tennessee, Texas Tech, TCU and USC.

A left tackle, Harper is a pancake block machine. The powerful run blocker buries his opponents and continues to drive from snap to whistle. Harper slides his feet well as a pass blocker and plays with balance.

With Harper’s commitment, LSU now holds pledges from seven out of the state’s top 10 prospects for 2025 including four of the top five.
