The Nicholls State football program has been on a meteoric rise since Tim Rebowe assumed the head coaching role. The Colonels have targeted Louisiana products with positive results.

Assumption High athlete Shawn Hall, Jr. appears ticketed for the free safety spot in Thibodaux after committing to Nicholls on Saturday. His options include offers from Arkansas Pine-Bluff and Grambling.

The 5-foot-11, 175 pound Hall represents the second verbal pledge for the Colonels 2019 class.

Hall plays single high safety often and covers sideline to sideline while taking good angles to the ball. He can also run the alley and make crunching tackles near the line of scrimmage. Hall has quick reactions and covers well in space.

The Colonels have other targeted players from the Pelican state and surrounding areas:

-Brooks Rayburn (6-1, 175) out of Kiln, Mississippi is considering Nicholls, Kansas and Tennessee-Martin.
-OG Ted Melson (6-3, 300) from St. Augustine (N.O.) has Nicholls, Northwestern State, South Alabama, Texas State, Lamar,Tennessee State and Jackson State.
-OG Leonard Hickman (6-3, 290) from Many, La. is pondering offers from Nicholls, Georgia State, New Mexico State, Arkansas Pine-Bluff and Lamar.
-DE Colby Orgeron (6-4, 245) out of John Curtis has offers from Tulane and Nicholls on the table.
-OLB Ja’Braylon Spencer (6-3, 200) from New Iberia has drawn offers from NW State, Nicholls, Arkansas Pine-Bluff, ULL and Arkansas State.
-DB Jarius Monroe (6-1, 185) out of East St. John has Ball State, Nicholls, McNeese, Arkansas Pine-Bluff and Idaho as his options.
-QB Zachary Clement (5-11, 188) from Lafayette Christian Academy is a pro-style prospect who looks like has Nicholls and Northwestern State battling it out for his signature.
