Recruiting: 2024 offensive tackle Ory Williams commits to LSU
LSU’s Bayou Splash recruiting weekend appears to have been a significant success. Elite talent in the 2024 recruiting class attended and it didn’t take long before Brian Kelly and staff witnessed the fruits of their labor
San Marcos, Texas offensive tackle Ory Williams committed to the Tigers.
After a long, heart felt process I’ve came to a decision for the next chapter in my life. I would like to thank everyone who stuck by me through this journey from family to coaches and staff. #AGTG #RespectMyPick @coachbraddavis @Coach_BHamilton @Coach_Reyes3 @iam_tmrw1 pic.twitter.com/7JqI1294pY

The 6-foot-7, 320-pound Williams chose LSU despite a major push from Florida, with Georgia, Texas and Texas A&M also in the hunt. He is the cousin of Texas A&M signee Rueben Owens.
LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis handled the recruiting responsibilities for Williams, who now becomes the third offensive line in the ’24 class with Khayree Lee and Ethan Calloway. Prior to this weekend, Williams visited LSU on June 16.
Nicknamed “Big Baby,” Williams may not be done growing. He is a devastating run blocker. He has also shown himself to be versatile enough to line up wide as a receiver, catch a throwback from the quarterback and launch a pass downfield for a touchdown.
As for the next potential LSU pledge, keep an eye on Natchitoches Central interior offensive lineman Joseph Cryer, who committed to Ole Miss on June 2 but put himself back on the open market today. The move coincides with LSU’s offer on July 26th.
Cryer (6-4, 290), also at Bayou Splash this weekend, may project best to the center position in college.
