Tulane added a 15th pledge for the 2023 football recruiting cycle and the first quarterback of the bunch Thursday.

Darian Mensah from St. Joseph High in Santa Monica, Calif. pledged to the Green Wave.

Mensah had earlier expressed a desire to play in the PAC-12 but there’s little doubt Tulane’s strong 2022 season helped lure him down south over other options out west. He received his Green Wave offer August 12.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound dual threat signal caller received offers from Tulane and Idaho State, as well as a walk-on offer at Arizona. San Diego State, Boise State, Arizona State and San Jose State also showed interest.

Mensah is a team leader who holds a 3.5 GPA in the classroom and displays a strong work ethic. Good placement on his throws affording his receivers ample opportunity to make the catch is an impressive trait of Mensah’s. He also excels on the hardwood for the Knights basketball squad.
