Four-star defensive back Michael ‘King’ Daugherty‍‍ has announced his commitment to LSU.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder in the 2023 class chose LSU over Auburn, Louisville, North Carolina, Texas, Miami, Florida and others in his over 40 offers. He visited LSU and UNC in the past two weeks.

Daugherty made 91 tackles with 15.5 for loss, six pass breakups, four sacks and a fumble recovery last season for Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga. He transitions very well when aligned at either outside cornerback or the slot/nickel role but also has the skills to play safety. Daughterty will close quickly on the ball and fly up to challenge the run.

LSU safety coach Kerry Cooks along with defensive coordinator Matt House collaborated on the recruitment.

The Tigers now have three commitments for 2023 including Daugherty, wide receiver Omarion Miller and tight end Mac Markway.
