TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The New Orleans Privateers extended Jamie Arnold’s pitch count early but fell behind on the scoreboard in an 8-0 loss to the Florida State Seminoles on Sunday afternoon at Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium.

The Seminoles jumped on top early with a run in the first inning. After a stellar double play started up by Mitchell Sanford, the Seminoles got a two-out run on a solo homer from James Tibbs to give the Seminoles an early 1-0 lead.

Florida State scored a run in each of the first four innings to create separation on the scoreboard. Five of the first seven runs in that span were scored with two outs to give the Seminoles a 7-0 advantage through four innings.

Privateer pitchers limited Florida State to one run over their last four innings at the plate. Caleb Seroski spanned 3.1 innings. Nathan Blasick threw a scoreless inning and Brooks Byers struck out the side in the eighth.

The Privateers as a team drew three walks against Arnold. In his first three starts coming into the day, Arnold had walked only two batters all season.
