RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech (3-3, 2-2 C-USA) continues west division football action in Conference-USA this week, hosting UAB (4-2, 2-0 C-USA) in a Halloween matchup on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 2:30 p.m. (CT) inside Joe Aillet Stadium.

The Bulldogs will look to bounce back after losing their last two contests with a 35-17 loss to Marshall followed by a 27-26 loss at UTSA. Prior to the loss to the Thundering Herd, Louisiana Tech had won eight straight games inside The Joe, including a 66-38 win over Houston Baptist and a 21-17 win over UTEP this season.

“We just have to keep getting better as a football team,” head coach Skip Holtz said. “If we can continue to do that, then we can see how good we can be by the end of the year. But, right now, we’re a long way away from being the quality football team that we want to be.”

Holtz is in his eighth season at the helm of LA Tech football where he has collected a 59-39 overall record. He has led the Bulldogs to six straight bowl victories, including a 14-0 win over Miami (Fla.) in the Walk On’s Independence Bowl last season (Dec. 26). The win was the first shutout in Independence Bowl history and the only shutout of the 2019 bowl season. Just 10 out of 130 FBS teams have won six or more consecutive bowl games, and LA Tech has the only active streak.

UAB had won three straight games before losing to Louisiana-Lafayette, 24-20, in the Blazers’ last contest on Oct. 23. Bill Clark is in his fifth season at the helm of the UAB program where he has called a 38-31 overall record.
