It has been quite the season for Pearl River baseball.

That outstanding season continues.

The fifth-seeded Rebels completed a two-game sweep of No. 12 Breaux Bridge, winning 7-4 Saturday after taking the opening game 12-2 in five innings Friday.

Trey Turnage picked up the win, going four innings, allowing three runs on three hits with a walk and two strikeouts. Tyrler Burlett came on to get the save, pitching three strong innings, yielding just an unearned run. Turnage helped himself with two hits and an RBI while Luke Smith added a pair of hits and drove in two runs

Pearl River (22-8) has set a record for the most victories in a single season in school history and will attempt to build on that mark when they travel to No. 4 Eunice for the quarterfinals next week. The Bobcats edged No. 13 West Feliciana 6-5 in the third and deciding game of that regional round series.
