Parkview vs. STM 2016

Jay Mayet told The Advocate that a desire to pursue other career interests was a driving force behind his decision to resign as head football coach at Parkview Baptist.

“There have always been other interests I’ve wanted to pursue,” Mayet said. “Obviously 21 years is a long time to be in one place. I’ve been tied and associated with Parkview for a long time, first with coach Guillot (former Parkview coach Kenny Guillot) and then with my son Cole, who played here and graduated. They are no longer here. I’ve decided this would be a good time to do pursue those things.”

The resignation of Mayet, 50, was announced in a school press release. He spent the last five years as the Eagles head coach, leading PBS to a 40-22 record and three state title game appearances.
