The number of Louisiana prep football programs under investigation for potential violations of holding training activities with players prior to the revised June 8 start date has now reached 14, a source with knowledge of the situation told Crescent City Sports Monday.

The list includes 10 public and four private schools, the source said, and they range with a heavy concentration of those from the New Orleans area with others from as many as four other metropolitan areas in the state.

The stages of each investigation varies significantly – it is near or fully complete on some, while others are just beginning.

LHSAA executive director Eddie Bonine told Crescent City Sports that Wednesday’s virtual meeting of the LHSAA executive committee is still on to review the evidence on hand and determine next steps.

Bonine said that the plan to try to meet in person with those who would face allegations is still set for June 24, but the meeting could be pushed back depending on how many people can gather in one room under Phase Two of the COVID-19 re-opening of Louisiana.

Gov. John Bel Edwards said Monday he will issue a proclamation later this week to move the state into Phase Two on Friday, which would allow for the start of permissible workouts on June 8.
