Northwestern State football opener at Texas A&M moved up to Aug. 30

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Northwestern State’s 2018 season opener at Texas A&M, its first game under new head coach Brad Laird, will be played Thursday, Aug. 30, the Southeastern Conference announced Tuesday, and televised nationally on the SEC Network.

The game will kick off at 7:30 CST from Kyle Field. It was initially slated to be played on Saturday, Sept. 1.

The Aggies and Demons will meet for the first time in football.

A&M will also usher in a new coach, Jimbo Fisher. Former Northwestern State head coach Bradley Dale Peveto is on the Aggies coaching staff.

NSU will open its home season nine days later, on Saturday, Sept. 8 against Grambling in Turpin Stadium.
