After a stellar career at Brother Martin, Clapp went on to play at LSU from 1984-87 under Bill Arnsparger and Mike Archer as a standout defensive lineman. He was named a permanent team captain for the 1987 squad. Clapp recorded 139 tackles, nine tackles for loss and four sacks. His son, Will, started at center at LSU and is now on the New Orleans Saints roster. Clapp is now an assistant coach at Jesuit.
