Destrehan (12-9) battles Zachary (21-1) at 5:30 p.m. at Pat Kennelly Diamond at Alumni Field in Hammond in a matchup you can watch live at CrescentCitySports.com.
The Wildcats had an eight-game win streak snapped Saturday when Central Lafourche won 3-2 at Destrehan in District 7-5A action.
The Broncos have won nine straight games, with their only loss coming against tough Sam Houston (5-4) on Mar. 9 at Gonzales in the Jay Patterson Shootout. Zachary blanked Destrehan 3-0 on Mar. 8 in the same tournament.
Destrehan is expected to pitch LSU signee Landon Marceaux against Zachary. The Wildcats have solid players in TJ Thomas, Bryce Rochelle and Dustin Joliff.
The Broncos have top players in outfielder River Town, catcher Alex Milazzo, pitcher and infielder Rhett Hebert and pitcher and infielder Joey Blanchard. Milazzo has been battling a hand injury.
