Charles Ross, Brian Kelly

LSU hosted some of the very best talent in the 2025 football recruiting class this weekend and came away with a highly-regarded pledge, four-star linebacker Charles CJ’ Ross.

The 6-2, 200 pounder from Northshore High in Houston, Texas arrived this weekend on an unofficial visit along with his parents. They received a tour of the facilities and came away very impressed.

New defensive coordinator Blake Baker was joined by head coach Brain Kelly along with director of recruiting J.R. Belton as hosts for the coveted prospect.

Ross, a lifelong fan of the Tigers, considered Houston, Pittsburgh and California before becoming the program’s 10th commitment.

This past prep season, Ross helped his team finish 15-1 for the season and earn a spot in the state championship game.

One thing that jumps out at you about Ross is his speed. He recently competed in the Mayde Creek Invitational track meet March 4, while finishing third in the finals of the 100 meters with a 10.48 time. It’s the type of speed you’d expect from a cornerback.

As one would expect, Ross is outstanding in coverage, plays sideline to sideline and is elite as a blitzer. He has been timed at 4.47 in the 40-yard dash.
