RUSTON, La. – Two former LA Tech teammates faced off against each other on Sunday Night Football as Boston Scott’s Eagles defeated Xavier Woods’ Cowboys 23-9 in prime time.

Scott, a third-year pro, logged 15 carries for 70 yards in Sunday’s victory. The running back also caught two passes for nine yards to tally 79 total yards. The former Bulldog gashed the Dallas defense for three gains of 10 yards or more, ripping of runs of 19, 17 and 11. His longest carry for 19 yards came on Philadelphia’s first play from scrimmage in the first quarter.

Scott has now recorded 15 or more touches in two straight games as the lead back for Philadelphia. He has averaged 11 yards per reception and just under 4.3 yards per carry in the past two weeks, both of which have been wins over divisional opponents.

The former Bulldog has now recorded four games with 40 or more total snaps. He has amassed 453 total yards this season – 183 on the ground, 167 on kickoff returns, 103 from catching the ball out of the backfield.

Woods again recorded 100% of defensive snaps in Sunday’s defeat, making three total tackles – one solo and two assisted. He has played all but one snap this entire season for the Cowboys at safety.

Woods ranks third on the Cowboys’ roster with 26 solo tackles. He ranks fourth in total tackles, trailing Trevon Diggs by just one stop for third on the team.

See how other former Bulldogs are contributing to their professional squads below. All stats are updated through Oct. 26.

Jaylon Ferguson, LB, Baltimore Ravens

Ferguson’s pass-rushing prowess emerged once again on Sunday, recording his second sack of the season in a 28-24 loss to the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers. With the Ravens leading 17-14 with just a little over nine minutes remaining in the third quarter, Ferguson worked around the right tackle to drop Ben Roethlisberger for a seven-yard loss. The former Bulldog then tallied another tackle for loss just two plays later, dropping Pittsburgh running back James Conner for a loss of three. The second-year pro finished Sunday’s contest with two solo tackles, two tackles for a loss, a sack and two hits on the quarterback. Ferguson has recorded two sacks, five tackles for a loss and a fumble recovery through seven games this season.

Trent Taylor, WR, San Francisco 49ers

Taylor tallied season highs in receiving yards (32) and catches (three) in San Francisco’s 37-27 defeat to the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field. Taylor earned four targets in Sunday’s game, hauling in a season-best 29-yard gain on a pass from quarterback Nick Mullens in the fourth quarter. Taylor’s 49 total snaps – 35 on offense and 14 on special teams – rank as a season high. Taylor also returned one punt for 20 yards, which also ranks as a season best.

L’Jarius Sneed, CB, Kansas City Chiefs

Sneed was placed on the injured reserve after suffering a collarbone injury in Kansas City’s win over Baltimore on Sept. 28. Sneed will be eligible to return to the field this season when his collarbone heals. The former ‘Dog’s two interceptions still rank tied for fifth in the NFL despite missing the past three games. The Chiefs dominated the winless Jets on Sunday in a 35-9 victory.

Vernon Butler, DT, Buffalo Bills

Butler missed Sunday’s game against the Patriots with a groin injury. The former first-round pick has registered 12 total tackles, two tackles for a loss, a forced fumble and a hit on the quarterback in six games played this season. Buffalo held on for a 24-21 win over the Patriots on Sunday.

Amik Robertson, CB, Las Vegas Raiders

Robertson played six total snaps in Sunday’s 16-6 win over the Browns in Cleveland. Robertson played two defensive snaps while contributing four snaps on special teams. The 2020 fourth-round selection made his NFL debut on Oct. 4 against the Bills. He has three total tackles so far this season.

Jeff Driskel, QB, Denver Broncos

Driskel did not see game action in Sunday’s wild 31-30 comeback win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The former Bulldog has completed 35-of-64 passes for 432 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions so far this season. He’s also carried the ball six times for 28 yards on the ground in three appearances and one start so far this season.

Justin Ellis, DT, Baltimore Ravens

Ellis did not see game action in Baltimore’s loss to the Steelers. Ellis played a season-high 33 defensive snaps in a win over the Eagles on Oct. 18. The veteran defensive tackle tallied one solo stop in the victory over Philadelphia, bringing his season total to two total tackles this year.

Jordan Mills, OT, Dallas Cowboys

Mills joined the Dallas practice squad on Sept. 29. The former LA Tech offensive lineman played for the Cowboys in 2015 and has spent time with the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals during his seven-year NFL career. Mills has played in 90 NFL games, starting 48 straight games for the Bills from 2016-18.
