Louisiana Cross Country Polls: Sacred Heart, St. Joseph’s, Episcopal, Catholic hold top spots

Sacred Heart of New Orleans remains the unanimous top-ranked girls small school team in the latest Louisiana Track and Field Coaches Association poll released Monday.

The Cardinals top the girls small school rankings with New Orleans area squads occupying the top three spots. McGehee is second with Newman third. Country Day is seventh with St. Martin’s Episcopal tenth.

St. Joseph’s Academy tops the girls large school rankings in unanimous fashion with Vandebilt Catholic second. Mandeville is third with Mount Carmel Academy fourth. Fontainebleau is sixth, Dominican is seventh and St. Scholastica is No. 10.

In the boys rankings, Episcopal is the unanimous choice for No. 1 in the small school rankings with University High second. Erath is third with E.D. White Catholic fourth and Holy Savior Menard fifth. Country Day is eighth with Newman ninth.

Catholic of Baton Rouge sits atop the boys large school rankings in unanimous fashion. Ruston is second with St. Paul’s third, Mandeville fourth and Brother Martin fifth. Jesuit is sixth and Holy Cross is seventh.

Here are the results from today’s LTFCA coaches poll, divided into large schools and small schools, divided by 3A and below and 4A/5A.
