Livingston Collegiate has forfeited its scheduled game with Sophie B. Wright scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. at Joe Brown Stadium due to issues with COVID-19 within the team.

It is the fourth straight schedule game lost for the Warriors, who previously lost scheduled games with Collegiate of Baton Rouge, Jefferson Rise and Cohen due to the impact of Hurricane Ida.

“We were trying to schedule Varnado but because of LHSAA rules, we had to accept the forfeit,” Warriors coach Kenneth Dorsey said. “I told my seniors and they are upset. This leaves us with half a season. We will try to figure out something we can do this weekend as a team. There is nothing we could do about it.”

The Wolves lost their opener to Helen Cox 42-7 last weekend.

Sophie B. Wright will play at St. Helena on Oct 1.

“Needless to say, we expect to play that game and cannot wait to do so,” Dorsey said.
