Leonard Fournette

Former St. Augustine and LSU running back Leonard Fournette has signed with the Buffalo Bills practice squad.

With Damien Harris being placed by injured reserve by the Bills last week, Buffalo sought insurance at the position. The Bills also have James Cook, Ty Johnson and former New Orleans Saints running back Latavius Murray at the position.

Fournette was released by Tampa Bay after the 2022 season. He won a Super Bowl championship with the Buccaneers in the 2020 season, rushing for 135 yards in Super Bowl LV as the Buccaneers whipped Kansas City 31-9.

At St. Augustine, Fournette was named the USA Today Offensive Player of the Year nationally in 2013.

Fournette played for LSU from 2014-16, combining for 4,312 total yards rushing and receiving with 41 touchdowns.

Fournette was the fourth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of LSU by Jacksonville. He played three years for the Jaguars before playing three seasons with Tampa Bay.

Now 28, Fournette has played in 79 games in the NFL, rushing for 4,478 yards and 34 touchdowns and catching 312 passes for 2,219 yards and seven touchdowns.

In nine playoff games, Fournette has rushed for 604 yards and nine touchdowns and catching 35 passes for 254 yards and a touchdown.
