The 85th year of the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club, presented by the Lamarque Motor Company, resumes with its monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 14 at noon at The Cannery on 3803 Toulouse Street in New Orleans with a stellar panel of speakers:

New Orleans Saints and Pelicans President Dennis Lauscha
Tulane head football coach Willie Fritz
Former LSU star and Saints Hall of Fame inductee Devery Henderson
Destrehan head coach Marcus Scott
St. Charles Catholic head coach Wayne Stein

A native New Orleanian and graduate of Jesuit, Alabama, and with a Masters degree from Loyola, Lauscha has been with the Saints since 1998, rising through the ranks from treasurer to running both the Saints and Pelicans, serving in those roles since 2012. Lauscha presided over the Super Bowl XLIV championship in the 2009 season. Lauscha also helps manage Benson automotive dealerships, real estate holdings, GMB Racing, Benson Capital Partners and Faubourg Brewing Company, among other entities.

In his eighth season as the head coach at Tulane, Fritz led Tulane to a marvelous, unforgettable 2022 season as Tulane went 12-2, won the American Athletic Conference and upset USC in the Cotton Bowl. Tulane finished ninth in the nation in the final Associated Press and Coaches’ polls.

Previously with the program, Fritz led the Green Wave to three consecutive bowl games from 2018-20. Fritz won his 200th FBS game earlier this season. The four bowl appearances are the most by any coach in Tulane history. Tulane is well positioned to return to a New Year’s Six Bowl game this season.

A native of Opelousas, Henderson starred at Opelousas High and LSU, where he was part of a national championship team in 2003. He was also a track star at LSU, part of a national championship squad as well.A second-round pick of the Saints in 2004, Henderson went on to play nine years for the Saints, catching 245 passes for 4,377 yards and 20 touchdowns and rushed for another score. Henderson led the NFL in yards per catch in 2006 and 2008 and was part of the Saints’ Super Bowl XLIV championship team in the 2009 season. Henderson was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame in 2022.

A New Orleans native and former player at Jesuit and McNeese, Scott is in his fourth season at Destrehan. He led the Wildcats to an unbeaten season and the Non-Select Division I state championship in 2022. Scott previously served as the head coach at West Jefferson and John Ehret, leading the Patriots to a state semifinal appearance.

In his third season as head coach at his alma mater (Class of 1999), Stein led the Comets to back-to-back state titles in Select Division III in 2021 and 2022 and did the same with the St. Charles Catholic baseball program in both years, earning Greater New Orleans Prep Coach of the Year honors from the Allstate Sugar Bowl. Stein has served his school for over two decades.
