Kyle Crigger

RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech closer Kyle Crigger earns Conference USA Pitcher of the Week honors after earning a win and a save on back-to-back days.

Crigger earned the win Saturday afternoon after the Bulldogs clawed all the way back, down 6-1 in the seventh inning. He tossed the eighth and ninth inning delivering two perfect innings of work while striking out four Wichita State batters.

Crigger entered the game Sunday with a difficult task as the bases were loaded holding on to a 5-3 lead. He managed to work around the damage and strike out two Shocker batters to end the threat. Following a ninth inning 1-out single, Crigger forced a pop up and struck out the final batter to clinch the series sweep over the Shockers.

The Bulldog closer finished the weekend with two appearances, four innings pitched, seven strikeouts and only two hits allowed.
