John Curtis Christian running back Marlon Prout has been selected as the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Prep Player of the Week for the metro New Orleans area for week seven by the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club, Crescent City Sports, NASH ICON 106.1 FM and WGNO/WNOL Friday Night Football.

A junior, Prout rushed 14 times for 137 yards and a touchdown in a 35-14 win at perennial power Acadiana.

Prout is coached by J.T. Curtis.

“Marlon plays above his physical stature,” Curtis said. “He’s such a unique young man because of his determination and tenacity to compete. Obviously, he is a skilled athlete. His grit is unbelievable. He maximizes his potential. He does the same thing in basketball and in track. He is a consummate team player and what you want in a young man.”

Sponsored by the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, Prout will be honored at the year-end meeting of the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club on Tuesday, December 13 at The Cannery in New Orleans.
