Haynes breaks losing streak in style, demolishes Fisher

METAIRIE – Haynes Academy rushed for more than 300 first half yards, scored six first half touchdowns and held a 43-point halftime lead Thursday en route to its 50-0 non-district victory over Fisher at Joe Yenni Stadium.

The Yellowjackets (1-2) got their first regular season victory since the 2016 season.

Senior running back Gavin Burns led the Jackets with 11 carries for 160 yards and two touchdowns, all in the first half.
Freshmen Ashton Clay had eight carries for 116 yards and one touchdown. Fullback Paul Longo finished with nine carries for 82 yards and a touchdowns

All purpose back/kicker Jacob Meilleur had six successful extra point kicks, ran another one in for two-points and had a 53 yard touchdown pass reception from Zack Bott.

Haynes will next play on Friday Sept. 28 at Pearl River.
