The LHSAA girls prep playoffs get underway this evening with one game as No. 14 Chalmette (20-5) entertains No. 19 East Ascension at 6 p.m. in the Non-Select Division I bracket while in the Non-Select Division III bracket, No. 26 Pine (21-10) is at No. 7 Port Allen at 6 p.m.

In Select Division III, No. 24 St. Charles Catholic (6-21) travels to No. 9 St. Thomas Aquinas (11-13) at 6 p.m. Also in Division III, No. 18 Cohen (12-10) is at Episcopal at 5 p.m.

No New Orleans area team earned a top seed, though John Curtis Christian and Amite received second-seeds and Mandeville is seeded third.

In the Non-select Division I bracket, unbeaten Walker (33-0) has the top seed and gets a bye. The Wildcats will take on the winner of Thursday’s first-round game pitting No. 17 Fontainebleau (22-9) at No. 16 Destrehan (17-7) at 6 p.m.

Denham Springs (26-4) is the second seed with a bye. The Yellow Jackets will face the winner of Thursday’s matchup pitting No. 18 Barbe at No. 15 Slidell at 6 p.m.

Mandeville (26-4) is the third seed with a bye. The Skippers will take on the winner of the Chalmette-East Ascension game.

Southside (26-4) is the fourth seed with a bye. The Sharks will play the winner of the game featuring No. 20 Salmen (16-15) at No. 13 St. Amant.

Always dangerous Ponchatoula (19-11), which has reached the title game two straight years, winning it all in 2022, is the 11th seed. The Green Wave host No. 22 Live Oak.

No. 12 Hahnville (23-5) entertains No. 21 Northshore (21-12) Thursday at 7 p.m.

No. 24 Thibodaux (17-11) faces a long road trip to No. 9 Neville.

No. 28 East St. John (16-12) also faces a long road trip to defending state champion and No. 5 seed Parkway Thursday at 6 p.m.

In Non-Select Division II, defending state champion Wossman (25-4) is the No. 1 seed with a bye. Wossman will take on the winner of the first-round matchup of No. 17 North DeSoto at No. 16 North Vermilion.

South Beauregard (24-7) is the second seed with a bye before meeting the winner of No. 15 Leesville and No. 18 Minden.

No. 3 Bastrop (31-2) gets a bye and will meet the winner of No. 19 Lutcher (16-8) and No. 14 St. Martinville, who play Thursday at 6 p.m.

Albany (21-7) is the fourth seed with a bye. The Hornets will meet the winner of No. 13 Iota and No. 20 Franklin Parish.

A rematch is set for District 8-4A rivals as No. 10 Pearl River (22-7) awaits No. 23 Lakeshore (10-15) Thursday at 6 p.m. The Rebels and Titans just met in the final regular season game with Pearl River winning 51-42.

In Non-Select Division III, defending state champion and top seed Rosepine (27-5) gets a bye before squaring off against the winner of No. 17 St. Helena (8-9) at No. 16 North Webster, who play Thursday at 6 p.m.

No. 2 Amite (26-5) has a bye before meeting the winner of No. 15 Winnfield and No. 18 Marksville.

No. 3 Doyle (28-4) has a bye before squaring off against the winner of No. 14 Richwood and No. 19 Avoyelles.

No. 4 Westlake (22-5) has a bye and will play the winner of No. 13 Jena and No. 20 Kinder.

No. 5 French Settlement (20-6) plays host to No. 28 Jewel Sumner (7-24) Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

No. 9 St. James (19-6) is home to No. 24 Ville Platte.

No. 8 Springfield (16-8) will entertain No. 25 Port Barre Thursday at 5 p.m.

No. 27 Patterson (4-17) heads to No. 6 Sterlington Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

In Non-Select Division IV, Arcadia (28-3) is the top seed with a bye before playing the winner of No. 17 Logansport at No. 16 Kentwood (11-9), who play Thursday at 6 p.m.

Defending state champion Oakdale (24-7) is the No. 2 seed with a bye before taking on the winner of No. 15 Homer and No. 18 Delhi.

No. 3 Lake Arthur (25-4) gets a bye and will meet the winner of No. 14 Mangham and No. 19 Elton.

No. 4 LaSalle (23-2) has a bye before facing the winner of No. 20 South Plaquemines (8-12), who plays at No. 13 Pickering Thursday at 6 p.m.

No. 25 Varnado (9-10) heads to No. 8 Oak Grove Thursday at 6 p.m.

No. 28 West St. John (8-17) is at No. 5 Lakeview Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

In Non-Select Division V, Hicks (31-3) is the top seed with a bye before meeting the winner of No. 16 Phoenix (14-17), who hosts No. 17 Calvin.

No. 2 Fairview (28-7) has a bye before taking on the winner of No. 16 Holden (11-13) and No. 18 Pleasant Hill.

No. 3 Anacoco (30-5) has a bye and will meet the winner of No. 14 Quitman and No. 19 Florien.

No. 4 Midland (24-9) gets a bye before playing the winner of No. 13 Negreet and No. 20 Converse.

No. 22 Maurepas (15-10) travels to No. 11 Summerfield Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

In the Select Division I bracket, Huntington (24-2) has the top seed with a bye before taking on the winner of No. 17 Karr (14-15), who plays at No. 16 Acadiana Thursday at 6 p.m.

John Curtis Christian (18-4) is the second seed and the Lady Patriots have a bye before facing the winner of No. 15 Scotlandville and No. 18 Southwood.

No. 3 seed Liberty has a bye and will take on the winner of No. 14 Higgins (19-4) and No. 19 Dominican (14-16), who play Thursday at 6 p.m. at Higgins.

No. 4 St. Scholastica (22-5) has a bye before squaring off against the winner of No. 13 Riverdale (18-6) and No. 20 St. Joseph’s Academy, who meet Thursday at 6 p.m.

No. 7 Archbishop Chapelle (21-7) has a bye and will meet the winner of No. 23 Mount Carmel Academy (10-17) and No. 10 Lafayette, who meet Thursday at 6 p.m. in Lafayette.

No. 11 Warren Easton (16-9) entertains No. 22 Captain Shreve Thursday at 5 p.m.

No. 24 Bonnabel (9-17) plays at No. 9 Tioga Thursday at 6 p.m.

In Select Division II, defending state champion and No. 1 seed Lafayette Christian (27-1) and LSU commit Jada Richard has the top seed with a bye before meeting the winner of No. 16 Willow School (9-11) and No. 17 Booker T. Washington of Shreveport.

No. 2 Vandebilt Catholic (19-6) has a bye and will meet the winner of No. 15 Washington-Marion and No. 18 Istrouma.

No. 3 Madison Prep (22-10) has a bye and will face the winner of No. 14 Lake Charles College Prep and No 19 St. Michael.

No. 4 E.D. White Catholic (22-7) gets a bye and will meet the winner of No. 13 De La Salle (9-19) and No. 20 Academy of Our Lady (5-11), who play Thursday at 6 p.m. at De La Salle.

No. 6 Booker T. Washington of New Orleans (18-8) has a bye and will await the winner of No. 11 Archbishop Hannan (16-13), who is home against No. 22 Kenner Discovery (10-20) Thursday at 6 p.m.

No. 9 Douglass (18-10) is home against No. 24 St. Louis Catholic Thursday at 3 p.m.

No. 10 Carver (12-12) entertains No. 23 Landry (8-12) Thursday at 5 p.m.

No. 12 Haynes Academy (15-8) will host No. 21 Cabrini (7-17). The Yellow Jackets and Crescents split a pair of regular season contests.

In Select Division III, Dunham (23-7) is the No. 1 seed with a bye. The Tigers will face the winner of No. 16 Acadiana Renaissance Charter and No. 17 Morris Jeff (11-6).

Defending state champion and No. 2 Parkview Baptist (20-10) has a bye and will meet the winner of Cohen and Episcopal.

Holy Savior Menard (20-11) is the third seed with a bye and will meet the winner of No. 14 Calvary Baptist and No. 19 Fisher (6-11), who play Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

University Lab (21-11) is the fourth seed with a bye. The Cubs will host the winner of No. 13 Pope John Paul II (9-12) and No. 20 Country Day (2-16), who play Thursday at 530 p.m. in Slidell.

No. 5 Academy of the Sacred Heart of New Orleans (14-7) has a bye and will take on the winner of No. 12 Northlake Christian (12-12) and No. 21 Loyola Prep.

No. 6 St. Mary’s Academy (15-7) gets a bye before meeting the winner of No. 22 Ursuline Academy (13-10) and No. 11 Glen Oaks, who play Thursday at 6 p.m.

No. 8 Newman (10-12) has a bye and will host the winner of the St. Charles Catholic at St. Thomas Aquinas game.

No. 10 Houma Christian (12-4) is home against No. 23 Sarah Reed (6-12).

In Select Division IV, Southern Lab (24-7) is the No. 1 seed with a bye. The Kittens will meet the winner of No. 16 St. Mary’s and No. 17 Vermilion Catholic.

No. 2 seed and defending state champion Northwood-Lena (16-12) has a bye and gets the winner of the first-round game featuring No. 15 Ascension Catholic and No. 18 St. Edmund.

No. 3 Hamilton Christian (22-6) gets a bye before taking on the winner of No. 14 Westminster Christian and No. 19 Central Private.

No. 4 Sacred Heart (24-5) has a bye before meeting the winner of No. 13 Catholic-Pointe Coupee and No. 20 Lincoln Prep.

No. 6 Central Catholic (16-7) gets a bye and will meet the winner of No. 11 McGehee (12-7), who hosts No. 22 Ascension Christian Thursday at 5 p.m.

No. 8 St. Martin’s Episcopal (16-5) has a bye before taking on the winner of No. 9 Cedar Creek and No. 24 Slaughter Charter.

No. 10 Covenant Christian (19-9) is home against No. 23 Riverside Academy (6-11) Thursday at 6 p.m. at Donner Gym.

In Division V, defending state champion Oak Hill (26-13) is the No. 1 seed with a bye before taking on the winner of No. 8 St. Joseph’s-Plaucheville and No. 9 Rapides.

J.S. Clark Leadership Academy (21-6) is the No. 2 seed with a bye before taking on the winner of No. 7 Avoyelles Public Charter and No. 10 First Baptist Christian (7-10).

No. 3 Family Christian (24-11) has a bye and will meet No. 6 Family Community in the quarterfinals.

Claiborne Christian (29-1) is the No. 4 seed with a bye before meeting No. 5 Planview in the quarterfinals.
