Girls Bowling: AOL rolls on, Cabrini pulls away late

Academy of Our Lady fired a 2,705 team series in a 26-1 victory Monday over Kenner Discovery at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.

AOL (8-0), which fell 12 pins shy of its season high, got a season-best 580 series from No. 6 bowler Laney Sasso, which included a 216 middle game. Giselle Dufrene had a 490 series and Emily Barrios had a 193 final game for the Penguins.

Kenner Discovery (1-6) was led by Taylor Daniels’ 151 middle game.

Cabrini 17, Mount Carmel 10: For the second time in as many meetings this season, the Crescents topped the Cubs in a tightly contested match at AMF.

Cabrini (5-2) and Mount Carmel (2-5) were tied 8-8 after two games, with the Crescents winning 5½ of eight points in the first game and the Cubs winning 5½ of eight points in the second.

The Crescents, led by Jaiden DeGeorge’s 193 game, overcame a 31-pin deficit in the final game and took four of six individual matches.

DeGeorge had a team-best 525 series for Cabrini, while Taylor Hunn led Mount Carmel with a 554 set.
