Academy of Our Lady entered the week at 16th in the LHSAA girls bowling power rankings – the last spot in the state playoffs with two weeks remaining in the regular season.

That made Monday’s match against once-beaten Patrick Taylor, eighth in the rankings, a big test for the Penguins, and they delivered in a big way with a 24-3 victory at Westside Lanes in Harvey.

AOL (6-3) won seven of eight points in each game and fired a 2,563 team series.

Emily Barrios had a 555 series, including games of 218 and 200, to lead the Penguins.

Addison Tran had a team-high 529 series for Patrick Taylor (6-2).

Archbishop Chapelle 26, Fisher 1: The Chipmunks remained unbeaten after a dominating win over the Gators at Bowlero Kenner.

The top two bowlers in the Chapelle lineup again excelled, combining to average over 225 for the day. Elizabeth Hamilton had games of 201 and 247, while Olivia Bares had games of 219 and 235. Taylor Bourdonnay added a 200 opening game for the Chipmunks (9-0), fourth in the latest LHSAA power rankings.

Layla Boudreaux’s 174 opening game was the best of the day for Fisher (0-9).

Mount Carmel 17, Kenner Discovery 10: The Cubs defeated the Swamp Owls at Bowlero.

Maggie Robertson’s 161 final game and 411 series led Mount Carmel (4-3), which led 6-2 after one game and 11-5 after two.

Taylor Daniels’ 191 helped Kenner Discovery (4-5) capture five of eight points in the final game, but it wasn’t enough.

Cabrini 21, Ursuline Academy 6: The Crescents defeated the Lions at Bowlero.

Cabrini (3-5) won five of eight points in each of the first two games before sweeping the finale to clinch the match. Jenna Trabeaux had a middle-game 177 and a 462 series to lead the Crescents.

Haley Heisser, Corinne Deblanc and Kennedy Williams each claimed a pair of points for Ursuline (1-7)
