Former Saints scout Hamp Cook dead at 86

Long-time New Orleans Saints scout Hamp Cook has passed away at the age of 86. Cook died this morning, Christmas Day, according to Rick Cleveland of Mississippitoday.org.

Cook was hired by the Saints in the early 1970’s and went on to work for the franchise for 20 years.

Cook was inducted into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame in 1996 for his outstanding career at Mississippi Southern College, which later became Southern Mississippi.
