Tommy Moffitt, who spent over two decades at LSU, has been hired by the Texas A&M Aggies to run their strength and conditioning program under new head coach Mike Elko.

Since leaving LSU, Moffitt has been in private business the past two years.

LSU captured three national titles (2003, 2007 and 2019) under Nick Saban, Les Miles and Ed Orgeron while Moffitt connected the coaching eras and provided stability in strength and conditioning for the Tigers. He was considered by most experts in his field as the premier strength and conditioning coach in college football during his time in Baton Rouge.

Moffitt was named the 2011 College Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year Award recipient, the 2003 strength and conditioning coach of the year by America Football Monthly and the 1999 Collegiate Football Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year by Professional Strength and Conditioning Coaches Society.

In addition to his success at LSU, Moffitt worked with the Miami Hurricanes and Tennessee Vols when those programs won national title.

Moffitt last served at LSU under Ed Orgeron but was not retained by Brian Kelly, who replaced him with former Notre Dame strength and conditioning coach Jake Flint.
