Former LSU cornerback Duce Chestnut is returning to Syracuse, where he began his college career.

The 5-foot-11, 205-pound native of Camden, New Jersey landed at LSU with impressive credentials but it didn’t work out for either side this past season.

Chestnut earned Freshman All American and ACC Rookie of the Year after becoming the first cornerback in 40 years to earn a starting role with Syracuse for the 2021 season opener. He was twice named All-ACC, making 24 starts for the Orange.

In 2023, Chestnut made only four appearances for the Tigers, recording 6 tackles and an interception versus Florida State in the season opener before spending the remainder of the campaign away from the team.

Meanwhile. former LSU five-star signee Lance Heard has hit the transfer portal. Some teams to keep an eye on in the chase for the coveted offensive tackle are Nebraska, Michigan, Florida State and Florida. However, the number one option may be Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels.
