E.D. White, OCS take over top spots in CCS Rankings for Week Three

There are two new top ranked teams in the Crescent City Sports Top 10 rankings enter week three.

In Class 3A, E.D. White Catholic moves to the top spot after pitching its second straight shutout. The Cardinals have outscored two opponents 73-0. Union Parish moves up to second while University Lab drops to third. Sterlington is fourth with Madison Prep up to fifth after a big win over Southern Lab.

Amite moves into sixth with Lake Charles College Prep now seventh. Church Point is eighth with Iowa ninth. Parkview Baptist moves in at No. 10.

In Class 1A, Ouachita Christian moves into the top spot after a convincing win over rival Oak Grove while Kentwood is now second. Homer is third with Vermilion Catholic fourth. Southern Lab drops to fifth. Haynesville is sixth with Logansport seventh and Ascension Catholic is eighth. The two new teams ranked are LaSalle at No. 9 and Glenbrook at No. 10.

In 5A, Zachary remains the top-ranked team after an impressive win over John Curtis Christian. The Broncos face another tough test against St. Augustine this week. Destrehan is second with Brother Martin and Karr remaining third and fourth. Catholic is a strong fifth after a big road win over Warren Easton.

Carencro is sixth with Archbishop Rummel moving in at No. 7 after a big road win at defending Division II state champion University Lab. Acadiana moves up to eighth, Ruston is back in at No. 9 and St. Augustine debuts in the tenth spot.

In Class 4A, Lafayette Christian remains the top ranked team with defending state champion Westgate second. LCA comes to New Orleans to take on Jesuit this week.

St. Thomas More is third with De La Salle fourth and Warren Easton now fifth. Leesville is sixth with Teurlings Catholic moves up to seventh and Lutcher falling to eighth. Two new teams move in, including North DeSoto, West Feliciana.

In 2A, St. Charles Catholic holds on to the top spot after a thrilling win over Lutcher. The Comets face a tough road test at Teurlings Catholic this Friday.

Many is second. Newman is third with Notre Dame fourth and Calvary Baptist fifth. Episcopal and General Trass move up to sixth and seventh while new teams in the Top 10 are Loreauville, Grand Lake and North Caddo.
