Destrehan QB JR Blood named Metro Prep Player of Week

J.R. Blood

Destrehan senior quarterback J.R. Blood is the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl/Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club, CrescentCitySports.com, WGSO 990 AM and Friday Night Football Prep Player of the Week for week nine of the prep football season.

Blood completed 14-of-16 passes for 250 yards and four touchdowns as Destrehan downed previously unbeaten Terrebonne 49-20 to earn the No. 2 seed in the Class 5A state playoffs.

Blood is coached by Steve Robicheaux.

He will be honored at the year-end meeting of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at Rock’n’Bowl, 3016 South Carrollton Avenue in New Orleans. The Quarterback Club meets weekly each Tuesday at noon at Rock’n’Bowl with speakers weekly on the New Orleans Saints, LSU, Tulane and prep football, along with wild card speakers.
