NEW ORLEANS – Crescent City Sports’ live streaming coverage of high school basketball continues Tuesday with a Division I select regional round playoff matchup between St. Augustine and John Ehret.

Live coverage from the John Ehret campus in Marrero will begin just prior to the 7 p.m. tipoff. CCS’ Ken Trahan and Bill Gallagher will describe the action.

The first meeting between the schools since 2016 is a matchup of district champions who were virtually deadlocked in the final Division I select rankings.

Ehret (19-6) earned the No. 8 seed and a first-round bye in the 24-team Division I select bracket, while St. Augustine (19-11), the ninth seed, defeated Carencro 73-66 in the bi-district round Friday night.

The Patriots enter the playoffs on a six-game winning streak, with their last loss on Jan. 19 to John F. Kennedy. The Purple Knights snapped a two-game losing streak with its opening playoff victory.

The St. Aug-Ehret winner will meet either top-seeded Scotlandville or Alexandria in the quarterfinals Friday.

The Crescent City Sports team is in its 12th season of producing live broadcasts for television and internet, having produced more than 400 live streams since 2012, and is continuing its extensive commitment to prep sports coverage on its website for 2022-23.
