Brother Martin vs. Jesuit baseball

NEW ORLEANS – Crescent City Sports’ live streaming coverage of high school sports shifts to the diamond Thursday night for the finale of a two-game baseball series between District 9-5A rivals Jesuit and Brother Martin.

CCS will live stream the matchup between the Blue Jays and Crusaders from historic “Rags” Scheuermann Field at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium in New Orleans, with coverage beginning just prior to the 7 p.m. first pitch. Jude Young and Kenny Francingues will describe the action.

Jesuit (11-5) and Brother Martin (12-4) enter Catholic League play with the two best overall records in the district. They open their two-game district series Wednesday night at John Ryan Stadium – a matchup postponed 24 hours by Tuesday’s severe weather in southeast Louisiana.

The Blue Jays are the defending Division I state champions, winning their record 21st state title last May. The championship was Jesuit’s first since 2011.

Entering this week, Brother Martin and Jesuit were in a flat-footed tie for second in the unofficial LHSAA Division I baseball power rankings.

The Crescent City Sports team is in its 11th season of producing live broadcasts for television and internet, having produced more than 350 live streams since 2012, and is continuing its extensive commitment to prep sports coverage on its website for 2021-22.
